Comments: Provide Proof

This is one of the most simple, powerful and useful pieces of leadership I have read. The main thing for me is that is coming from real experience and real life. I found this summary full of personal challenges to make every hour of the day a chance of learning with good opportunities for personal growth and to help the people around.

I have read most of what is in the business/management section of the bookstore. Can't get through 1/2 of them as they are the same old same old. These principles, however, are breakthrough. They have helped me to simplify my approach to leadership across work, family, self. The LEAP concept is simple and powerful. Too many times I hear, "if we only had more resources" The notion that love unlocks energy is the killer breakthrough.

Steve, brilliantly done! It's a whole new ballgame now. Constraints are off!!!

Hey Steve,

I had the pleasure of meeting you when you hosted the free teleconference about a month ago. I had just finished both The Radical Leap and The Radical Edge and was truly inspired by both books. I am definitely a Farber fan and am using the principles in both books in my daily client interactions. But that’s not the reason for my post.

I wanted you to know that I was turned on to your books by our Director of Human Potential (like the title) from my company. She recommended that we read Leap before our company retreat that we completed last week. The entire 3 days we spent together (there’s about 30 of us) was based on cultivate Love, generate Energy, inspire Audacity, and provide Proof so that as a team we can work together as a cohesive unit. It was a great 3 days and has truly motivated us to be audacious in our dealings with clients.

I’ve also been using Love in my communications with clients and I’m starting to see the proof that this actually works. As an example, I’m flying to Las Vegas for a trade show and sent out a mass e-mail to invite previous trade show attendees to a company sponsored reception at the event. Would you believe that I’ve gotten nearly a 6% response to that e-mail? And that’s just one e-mail. I can’t wait to use the principles in both books for the face to face interaction that will happen during the show.

I thought you’d like to hear some more proof from the trenches. I am truly a fan and can’t wait to read the next book. Thanks.

Steve:

I couldn't be a bigger fan! I have learned so much by referring to your site and putting your pearls of wisdom to work both professionally and personally. I look forward to hearing you speak in a few days and look forward to being inspired. It's a tricky space--this extreme leadership--but very rewarding. Audacity is just one element which inspires me every single day. I have just ordered the book and look forward to putting your principles to work in Vegas next week.

Thanks!

Steve:

I had the pleasure of listening to you yesterday at a conference in Florida. I always thought of myself as a reluctant leader. By that I mean, I've never really conciously aspired to be a leader but somehow always end up there. By listening to you yesterday, I now believe it's because other deep seated values like love and audacity (I can't believe I'm using that word).

I now intend to seek out more of these values that will enable me to be a better leader, friend, and husband at both work and play.

Thanks for your inspiration.
