Just to show you how I do it. I ditched the mini composition pad for a steno. The little one’s good for the back pocket–but once I get writing it’s too limiting. I’ll probably experiment with a combination of the two.
Here’s the translation of the scrawl:
Carthage College on Lake Mich. Back in Kenosha for round 2 with QG. Quad Graphics managers start their meeting with a few songs…Saints Go Marchin’ In, My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean. Ernie at the piano has been doing this for the company since the 70’s. 600 manufacturing types singing right on key. I don’t think anyone even blushed.
At the gas station in Kenosha: live bait vending machine. Better than Cheetos? Protein, right?
Red Carpet Club at O’hare: bags of Sun Chips in a basket, fresh fruit, coffee. No bait. No protein. Hot Spot for email and blog makes the time pass. People talk too loud on their cells. I heard: “I love all the people on the management team. I don’t want to hear the details.” there’s a novel in that snippet. Makes me think of Tony Soprano.
Dinner with Todd last night. Write manifesto for changethis?
There! I showed you mine, so now it’s your turn.
Send me an email with a jpeg of your WUP entry along with the text translations, and I’ll slap it up here for all to see.
Any takers?
